[origin: WO9526977A1] Affinity buffers are disclosed which increase the binding capacity of synthetic affinity chromatographic gels. The buffers of the invention generally comprise aqueous solutions of salts effective to provide a concentration of sulfate, acetate, chloride, potassium, sodium, or ammonium ions sufficient to enhance the binding capacity of such synthetic gels, as shown in the figure.
