Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9108137A1] The invention relates to a boat hull, especially for fast hydroplanes, the underside of which has a profile like that of an aircraft wing at least in one longitudinal cross-section through or parallel to the central plane, whereby the vertex of the longitudinal profile cross-section related to the forward end of its chord lies in the forward half of the entire length of said chord. According to the invention, with the hull (2) not under load, the chord (1) subtends an angle ( alpha ) of 1 to 3 DEG , and preferably from 1.5 to 2.5 DEG , especially from 1.8 to 2.2 DEG , with the horizontal plane defined by the surface (3) of the water, so that the after end point (4) of the profile lies at the lower end point of the stern or transom (5) beneath the surface (3) of the water.
