Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0332088A1] The work or office chair has a seat support (25), which is swivellable about a horizontal swivel axis in the front region and is adjustable in inclination, with a seat (26) and has a backrest support (18), which is inevitably overproportionally adjustable in inclination in dependence on the change in inclination of the seat support (25), with a backrest (19). With increasing inclination of the seat support (25), the backrest (19) executes an additional relative movement downwards in relation to the facing end of the seat support (25). A chair with overproportional synchronous adjustment of seat and backrest and additional adjustment of the backrest in relation to the seat in the case of change in its inclination is achieved with a simple, operationally reliable adjusting device in that the backrest support (18) is attached (16, 21) at least to one connecting rod which itself is mounted rotatably on the chair frame near to the swivel axis (13) of the seat support (25), in that the connecting rod (16, 21) bears a carrier (23) on the chair frame between the attachment axis (17) of the backrest support (18) and the axis of rotation (15), which carrier is guided adjustably in a guide slot (24) of the seat support (25), and in that the backrest support (18) is preferably connected in an articulated manner on both sides via its attachment axis (17) to a swivel lever (32, 34) in each case, which is mounted swivellably likewise on the chair frame in the region of the swivel axis (13) of the seat support (25).
