Day 3 at The Gathering 2024: A day for catching up on missed items

The third day at The Gathering 2024 started a little earlier than normal events. This was to help get through everything as quickly as possible.

The day went a lot smoother than Day 2. Everything ran on time, and it didn’t take too long to get through all the catch-up items. In fact, when it came to autographs, it was mostly the Lauren Lyle autographs that were needed due to her having two Meet & Greet sessions so not as much time to get autographs in.

While making sure the catch-up photos were done, this was the only day for three specific groups of photos. People were able to get their Throuple photos (Caitlin and Paul), The Hunters duo, and the MacKenzies shot.

John Bell stuck around in the photo room for the Sasnak Community photo. This is a photo that is mostly for Sasnak sisters and brothers to come together and get a professional photo with their group. There is never a guarantee that the cast members will stick around, and they can’t if they have other parts of the convention they need to get to.

John didn’t have any catch-up autographs or any Meet & Greets to get to, so he could stick around with the photo crew. That meant those who paid for a community photo got a special treat. It happens now and then!

Three more Meet & Greets during Sasnak City

There were three Meet & Greets held for Sunday to make sure they were all spaced out and people could get everything they paid for. Caitlin started the day and then Steven and Izzy followed on. We’ll get into the Meet & Greets in a separate post, but like with the Chocolate Shop and Turtle Soup, the selfies were done first to get them out of the way and avoid too much time being taken there.

While the Meet & Greets were going on, people had time to head around the various vendors and just hang out with their friends. This is also a day when some people are recovering from the night before!

A closing panel with a story we’d waited all The Gathering 2024 for

The closing panel was an emotional one. It’s the last time Sasnak City will be in the World War I Museum and on that stage. The museum is where it all started eight years and 12 events ago!

With that being said, the cast helped to add more laughter. It all started with a story that we’d waited all weekend for. You see, there were tiny rubber ducks all over the stage during the weekend. They were for Tim Downie, who told a funny “quack” story about “quack” ducks. For those who hadn’t heard the story, he told it again. And I swear it was funnier the second time hearing it! It’s all to do with Outlander filming when ducks interrupted a speech he was giving.

More questions were answered, and then we all said goodbye once more—to each other and to the museum.

While it’s the end of Sansak City at the World War I Museum in Kansas City, it’s not the end of Sasnak City as a whole. There will be more events in 2025, with The Kingdom as the first one planned so far.
