Thanks for your email. At the moment PV will not support Unicode output
because its display routines are not aware of wide characters. I like the
suggestion and will put it on the TODO list.

Do you have a web site I can link to in the acknowledgements section of the
documentation?

please thank you for this fantastic tool (pv).

Have you considered using unicode progress characters to show a bit more precise progress bar?
Modern terminals can do it.
Maybe not default, if you feel so, just a small option.

Read about dialog; but, as you yourself write, thats pretty 'convoluted' (looked it up in a dictionary, I'm Russian and haven't known the word).
