This documentation is transcluded from Template:PD-old-auto-1996/doc.

This is an enhanced version of Template:PD-1996 to show how long ago authors died. Depending on the deathyear given, it chooses {{PD-old-80-1996}}, {{PD-old-100-1996}} etc. If the date given is less than 50 years ago, {{PD-1996}} is applied.

The template automatically sets the following categories: Category:PD Old auto: no death date if required "deathyear" is missing

Usage

{{PD-old-auto-1996 |deathyear= |country= }}

{{PD-old-auto-1996|country=country|date=URAA date|reason=reason|deathyear=deathyear}}. If country is not given, it is not mentioned in the rendering of this template. date gives "January 1, 1996 for most countries" by default, and the reason defaults to the Note shown above. See Non-U.S. copyrights for a per-country list of URAA dates.

See e.g. Image:Spelterini Al Ashraf.jpg for example usage of this template.
