Subject: aptitude: make aptitude continue downloading in background while waiting for a CD
Date: Tue, 15 Jan 2002 20:00:02 +0100
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.8.1-1
Severity: wishlist
As downloads are somewhat expensive here in good 'ol Germany, I'd
appreciate having aptitude doing all the downloads in the background
even while waiting for a CD. This does not work so far :-/ - it stops
after one file and waits for the CD.
Regards,
Friedemann

You're saying that no files are downloaded while it is waiting, but it
continues downloading after the CD is inserted?
I think it might be continuing to download, but simply not updating
the progress meters. Could you check this? (you could try using a
network-load monitor, for instance)

Hm. Does apt-get do this as well?
