Robert Carey (Maine)
Robert Carey is the Maine Superintendent of Insurance. He assumed office on February 28, 2024. His current term ends on February 28, 2029.
Maine Governor Janet T. Mills (D) appointed Carey as Maine Superintendent of Insurance on February 8, 2024 to replace Eric Cioppa.
Biography
Carey earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and a Master of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University. [1]
Prior to his appointment as Maine Superintendent of Insurance, Carey served as a consultant to state regulators and lawmakers on insurance policy, markets, and regulation. He also previously worked for the Massachusetts Division of Insurance. [2]
