Marilyn J. Dettmer
Marilyn J. Dettmer is a magistrate judge of the Second District of Iowa. She was appointed to this position in January of 2008 and serves Floyd County.[1]
Education
Dettmer received her bachelor's degree from Wartburg College in 1972, her master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1989 and her J.D. degree from the Drake Law School in 1991.[1]
Career
Dettmer began her career in 1992 as a private practice lawyer, a position she held for one year. Also from 1992 to 1994, she was an Assistant Floyd County Attorney. She was then promoted to Floyd County Attorney. She worked in this capacity through 2006 and has been a private practice lawyer since 2007. She was appointed magistrate of District Two in 2008.[1]
