M. Michael Monahan
M. Michael Monahan was a judge of the Second Judicial District of Ramsey County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position in 1991 and was re-elected in 1992, 1998 and 2004. He retired on Jan. 3, 2011 and was appointed a senior judge on July 1. His term expired on June 30, 2013.[1][2][3]
Education
After graduating from Georgetown University with an A.B. degree in 1964, Michael Monahan joined the Army. He served until 1969, earned a Bronze Star after serving in Vietnam, and achieved the rank of Captain. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1967.[3]
Career
Monahan began his legal career in 1969 as an associate of the firm of Maun & Simon. He became a partner of this firm in 1973 and a managing partner in 1988. He worked in this capacity until he was appointed to the district court in 1991.[3]
