James P. Punch
James P. Punch was a multi-bench judge for the Orleans County Family Court, Orleans County Court and the Orleans County Surrogate's Court in New York. He also served as an Acting Justice of the Orleans County Supreme Court. He began his service in the Orleans County courts following his election in 1990. He was re-elected to 10-year terms in 2000 and 2010. He was appointed an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 1991.[1] Punch retired from the court on July 29, 2017.[2]
Education
Punch received his B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1977 and his J.D. degree from the University of Dayton in 1980.[1]
Career
Punch worked as a District Attorney of Orleans County from 1985 until his judicial election to the County, Family and Surrogate's Courts in 1990. The following year, he was appointed an Acting Supreme Court Justice.[1]
