Kenneth Sumsion is a former Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 56 from 2007 to 2013. He was a candidate for Governor of Utah in the 2012 elections, but was eliminated in the Utah Republican Party's nominating convention on April 21, 2012.[1]

Biography

Sumsion has worked in the following positions: Internal Auditor/Fiscal Analyst for Vulcan Materials, Division Controller from Morton Metalcraft, and Auditor/Systems Consultant for Arthur Andersen. He has also been a Certified Public Accountant and an Internal Consultant for Brigham Young University.

Sumsion earned his B.S. in accounting from Brigham Young University. He went on to receive his MACC from Brigham Young University.

Sumsion did not run for re-election in 2012. He sought the Republican nomination for Governor of Utah in 2012 but was eliminated from the race during the Utah Republican Party's nominating convention on April 21, 2012.[2]

On November 2, 2010, Sumsion won re-election to the Utah House of Representatives, District 56[3].

On November 4, 2008, Sumision won re-election to the Utah House of Representatives, District 56 defeating opponent Michael Barron (C).[4]

The Score Card gives each legislator a score based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Sutherland Institute thought were pro-conservative policies.[6]
