Francis Suarez (R) was the mayor of Miami, Florida. At the time of his campaign, he had served in the position since 2017. He officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election on June 15, 2023.[2] Suarez suspended his campaign on August 29, 2023.[3]
In his campaign announcement video, Suarez highlighted his experience as the mayor of Miami, Florida. He highlighted a city program that helps teach students about financial literacy by helping them open savings accounts, lower taxes and higher tax revenue in the city, a low unemployment rate, new construction developments, and a reduced homeless population.[4]
Before serving as mayor, Suarez served on the Miami Board of Commissioners. He founded Edge Title Company and worked as an attorney with the law firms GrayRobinson and Greenspoon Marder.
