Dennis Kolenda
Dennis C. Kolenda was a Circuit Court judge for the 17th Circuit Court in Michigan.[1] He resigned his position on April 1, 2008.[2][3]
Education
Judge Kolenda attended the University of Michigan, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1969. From there, he went on to the Harvard Law School, where he obtained his J.D. in 1972.
Career
Judge Kolenda served as a law clerk to the Hon. Robert B. Burns of the Michigan Court of Appeals, was the chief trial attorney for the Kent County Office of the Defender, and then became a partner in the law firm of Varnum, Riddering, Schmidt & Howlett, where he was a commercial trial attorney. Judge Kolenda was elected to the Kent County Circuit Court in November 1988. He later served as Chief Judge from January 1994, through December 1999.[4]
