Dean Barkley
Dean Barkley was a judicial candidate for the Minnesota Supreme Court in 2012.

Barkley ran for election to the Minnesota Supreme Court, Place 1. He was defeated by incumbent Barry Anderson in the general election, receiving 40.65% of the vote.[1][2][3]

Education
Barkley received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1972 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1977.[4]
Career
Prior to running for a seat on the Supreme Court, Barkley served as a Minnesota Senator. He was appointed on November 4, 2002 to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Paul Wellstone, and served until January 3, 2003.[5] Barkley also served as the campaign manager of former Governor Jesse Ventura. Prior to serving as a senator and working for Governor Ventura, Barkley was a registered lobbyist for a variety of clients.[6] Barkley also founded the Independence Party in Minnesota.[4]
