Dawn Amacker is the Division L judge of the 22nd Judicial District in Louisiana. She was elected to this position on October 4, 2008, and was re-elected on November 4, 2014. Her current term expires in 2020.[1][2][3][4]

Amacker is running for re-election to the 22nd Judicial District.
Primary: She was successful in the primary on November 4, 2014, receiving 73.5 percent of the vote. She competed against Nanine McCool. [3][5]

Education

Amacker received her B.A. in history and government from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1978 and her J.D. from the Louisiana State University School of Law in 1982.[6]

Career

Amacker began her career in 1982 as a senior law clerk to Judge Hillary Crain of the First Circuit Court of Appeal. She later became a staff attorney of that court. In 1985, she became a partner of the law firm of Collett & Amacker. She worked in that position until her judicial election in 2008. In 1995, she was certified as a family law specialist. She has also served as an ad hoc hearing officer for the 22nd Judicial District and as a judge ad hoc for the Bogalusa City Court.[7]
