David J. Ayres
David J. Ayres was a judge of the Nassau County Court. He served from 2004 to 2014. He was also an acting justice on the Nassau County Supreme Court, beginning in 2005.[1][2][3]
Education
Ayres received his B.A. from Adelphi University in 1989 and his J.D. from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1993.[1]
Career
Ayers began his career in 1994 as an assistant district attorney of Nassau County. In 1998, he began working as a law secretary for the Hon. Richard LaPera, J.C.C. He worked in that capacity until 2004, when he became a county court judge. In 2005, he was appointed an acting supreme court justice. He also served as the presiding justice of the Nassau County Sex Offense Court and the Nassau County Integrated Domestic Violence Court in 2006.[1]
2013 election

Ayres ran for re-election to the Nassau County Court. General: He was defeated in the general election on November 5, 2013, after receiving 22.2 percent of the vote. Patricia A. Harrington, David I. Levine and David P. Sullivan were also on the ballot, competing for two open seats.[2][3]
