The Constitution Party selected Don Blankenship as its presidential nominee at the 2020 Constitution National Convention on May 2, 2020. William Mohr was nominated for vice president.[1]
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the party approved holding the event telephonically rather than in St. Louis, Missouri.[2][3]
Constitution National Convention
The Constitution Party was originally scheduled to convene its national convention in St. Louis, Missouri, from April 29 to May 2, 2020. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the party approved holding the event telephonically on May 1-2, 2020.[3]
At the convention, party delegates selectes the Constitution presidential nominee and voted to adopt a platform outlining the party's policy priorities and values.[3]
The party's 2016 presidential convention was held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Presidential nomination
The Constitution Party selected Don Blankenship as its presidential nominee on May 2, 2020. Party delegates nominated five candidates to be on the initial ballot. Blankenship received 57.2% of the vote on the second ballot, defeating three other candidates.[1]
