Victoria’s 5-star review: Again, we came here for HH on a Friday. Five of us shared all of the following: 2 orders of melt in your mouth gnocchi 2 orders of burgers/fries (great cuts of meat, btw) 1 order calamari 1 order seared tuna 1 order baked garlic broccoli 1 order amazing feta cran pine nut flatbread 2 orders of the mini chocolate torte cakes (w/ ice cream) 1 glass house red 1 glass house white 1 beer All for less than $70. Need I say more?

Victoria’s 5-star review: Again, I can't say enough great things about the food at this place. Our third time there, we experienced yet another great meal. The food and service continue to be excellent. You must try their happy hour: 1. Fireworks roll ($5.50) for 8 deliciously spicy/crunchy sushi pieces 2. Spicy tuna roll ($3). Melt in your mouth. 6 pieces. 3. Beef sliders ($7) which come with fries. The sliders were seriously the best sliders I've ever eaten in my life. My bf agrees. Served rare/medium rare, so flavorful, so decadent, so moist. They are piled with sauteed mushrooms and swiss. And the fries were crispy and golden. For dessert we shared the molten lava cake. Chocolate perfection. I continue to spread the word to my friends about the amazing happy hour.

Victoria’s 5-star review: Again, everything we got was SO delicious. Such a good Sunday afternoon HH spot. 1. Delicious spicy tuna rolls. Much better than the weird ish at Umi Sake House. Go here instead. 2. Delicious salmon things (not on the online menu, so can't recall or look up) that were shaped like triangles. Compacted rice patties with seaweed bits integrated within, shaped like triangles and stuffed with salmon. Wrapped with a little seaweed belt on the oustide. SO good. 3. Delicious Goma salad. Topped with sesame seeds. 4. Not too crowded so this little hidden gem is kept a secret. 5. Nice waitresses. LOVE this place.

Victoria’s 4-star review: This is one of the better places to go to for happy hour sushi. Everything is pretty fresh, the ambiance is relaxing and very zen, and the service up to par. PROS: 1. Rockin' happy hour list. Two full pages of tons of options, including a dozen or so rolls, beers, and other Japanese small plates. Everything is $4-6. And omg, the crispy prawns were amazing! I assumed they would be tempura fried, but no, they were wrapped in some kind of skinny Asian noodles, all the way around, and deep fried like that. Very innovative! And covered in sweet chilli sauce and seaweed. SO good. 2. Great decor. Try to find the bathroom! It's kinda cool--like a secret passageway through a wall! You gotta go to know what I mean. 3. Excellent service. For as packed as it was, our waiter was always around, always checking in, and our waters were never below a sip's worth from the top of the glass. CONS: 1. The hostess was kinda flakey. Took 5 minutes for her to notice me and seat us. 2. The spicy tuna roll was way too spicy, and not very tuna-y. Three of us got it, and we all agreed it didn't taste like tuna. Kinda odd. Would definitely come again though!

Victoria’s 4-star review: Again, another great experience at Peso's. 1. Free nachos and salsa. The bartender gave me and my two gfs TWO bowls of nachos and two dishes of salsa. Generous. 2. Delicious food. The steak salad (with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, etc.) was full of freshness and bold flavors. The steak was well-seasoned, but not so much so that it distracted from the crisp veggies. They also were kind enough to substitute the blue cheese (which I don't like) for another cheese (I can't recall...something Mexican and of which I didn't have a ton) and brought it out on the side. 3. Friendly/cute bartenders. Looked after us very well. Rather than refill my water glass, they brought out new ones before the current one was even empty. CONS: 1. Super crowded. This place and its sister restaurant (Toulouse Petit) are super popular. Expect to wait an hour for a table on a Saturday night. We were lucky enough to snag the last three available seats at the bar.

Victoria’s 2-star review: This used to be a tried and true place for ladies night with me and my girlfriends, but I must say, the place has gone downhill. Some notable changes: 1. Food is no longer as great. Last time I was there we all ordered the Gainsbourger, and my oh my, were the burger patties salty! All five of my friends and I thought the amount of salt in the beef was absurd. To top it off, our water carafe was left empty and we had to keep bugging the waitress to get us water to wash down the salty food. Tonight, I ordered simply the frites. It was served with "ketchup" and "aoili" which was really some weird BBQ-like sauce and mayo. I thought they made a mistake and asked for ketchup. The waitress looked at me and say, "No, that's ketchup." I said, "It tastes like BBQ sauce." She said, "That's because we make it in house." Um. Ok. I asked, "Do you have regular tomato ketchup?" She said, "nope." 2. She forgot my diet coke. 3. The waitress tried to stiff me. Twice. I gave her a $20 for a $7.34 tab (like I said, I only ordered frites and a soda.). She gave me $7 back in change. I asked her for the rest of my change. She came back with $12. So she kept the change. Hmm, not sure if this is a regular habit of hers, and I don't care that it was .66. The point is that it was not her change to keep. I didn't bother asking her for the $.66, but it irked me that she gave me the wrong change twice. All in all, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I will venture elsewhere in Greenwood for happy hour.

Victoria’s 4-star review: I've been here a few times and every time I'm glad I went. The happy hour prices are amazing, the crowd fun, the staff friendly, and ambiance relaxing. PROS: 1. Awesome happy hour! $5 for sliders and fries. It comes with two huge sausage sliders (bigger than any slider I've seen, like at Amber or Frontier Room) topped with caramelized onions and red bell peppers. Yum. And the side of fries is equally huge, with curry ketchup. The $3 pretzels are also yummy. So soft, warm, and chewy. And it comes with three sides (a mustardy cheese sauce, dijon, and some mustardy apple. What's with the mustard infused in all of 'em?). Beers are a buck off, too. 2. Good beer selection. With great descriptions of what to expect with each one. 3. Friendly, attentive staff. The people in my crew trickled in one by one and the waiter came by immediately after each one sat down. CONS: 1. Super duper crowded. I've never just been able to walk in and find a seat. You sort of have to fend for yourself and ask someone if you can join them. There is no host or hostess to seat you. And until you get seated, none of the staff notices you.

Victoria’s 4-star review: I love the concept of this restaurant; I really do. I love that they are the only one of its kind in Seattle, whose chefs learn the cuisine and culture from faraway lands, only to bring them back to Seattle and update their menu every few months. What other place does that? PROS: 1. Great service. Friendly host/hostess and wait staff. 2. Speedy. Food came out fast. Seated fast. 3. Pretty good food. Most of the items are pretty tasty and full of flavor, save for a few. I have to say that I did order the French onion soup (for the Normandy theme) and it was lacking some serious flavor. Even my vegan friend sacrificed her ways to sample a bit of the broth, just to confirm my opinion. It needed something more savory. CONS: 1. Some of the items are lacking flavor. 2. The themed lunch menu is kind of scarce. Go to dinner if you want more themed options.

Victoria’s 4-star review: The prices aren't the greatest for happy hour, but the selection is pretty sweet. PROS: 1. Interesting martini flavors (lemon mirengue, anyone? With a graham cracker trim?) 2. Spiced marcona almonds for $3! Need I say more? 3. Half-plate options for some of the appetizers and entrees. 4. Late happy hour time (5-9pm!) CONS: 1. Prices could be better. $5 for a martini is not a happy hour price, if you ask me. 2. Super salty prosciutto flatbread pizza. Then again, it IS prosciutto.

Victoria’s 3-star review: Although one of the bartenders is super friendly and always remembers me (even though it has been several months since I was last in), this place is now kind of hit or miss. I used to come here on a regular basis post work when I worked at my old job, and the food was always great ($3 happy hour prices for things like kobe beef sliders and huge ass pizzas--who can beat that?). This time, though, the sliders were burnt and dry, and the pizza was bland. Definitely not what it used to be.

Victoria’s 3-star review: The Buck is a unique place to grab happy hour with friends. Good food, good drinks, nice bartender/waiter/cook/jack-of-all-trades. Not to mention the mannequins in the bathrooms! 1. Yummy nachos, enough to share with three other people! Comes with sour cream, salsa, cheese, jalapeno aioli. 2. Yummy pizza. Only one kind. Covered in mozzarella, parm, pesto (though it was undetectable), and drizzled in balsamic for a nice touch. 3. Yummy drinks. Southern Decadence = delish. Minus two stars for the slow service (one man on the job, what can you expect. Poor guy.) and expensive nachos ($10). I'd come back.

Victoria’s 3-star review: I come here a lot after work for the happy hour because it's good, cheap, and convenient. Frontier Room has a cute happy hour menu (everything is just $3) including bacon wrapped shrimp (really fattening, yes, but delicious), pulled pork sliders, short ribs, mac & cheese, etc. Good ol' Southern food. I've also been here at night with friends and although the jams are awesome and there is no cover charge, a female's gotta beware the creepers. It's a great place to get your dance on (to pop/80's/hip hop mash ups), but just watch out for the guy trying to get his grind up on you. I guess that's typical of most meat markets in Belltown, though.

Victoria’s 2-star review: I came here for the second time and was very disappointed in the food. I don't know if it was an off night or the chef was a sub or what, but damn. I got the bacon wrapped dates again. This time, the bacon was charred/burnt to black. It didn't even taste like bacon. I should have sent them back, but we got there late and our friends were about done. Likewise, the pizza was cold and just plain bland. Finally, we also ordered the cheese potato truffles. It tasted like potatoes. That's it. No truffle oil nor cheese. Man, what a disappointment after over-hyping the place to my BF. I will probably come here again just cause the HH is so late and also on Saturdays, but I won't expect the best anymore.

Victoria’s 2-star review: There are better happy hour deals in the area if you are aiming for happy hour deals in general. If you are aiming for Mexican happy hour deals, I'm not sure what else is out there. PROS: 1. Fast service CONS: 1. $5.50 weak margaritas 2. $5 small plates. Amber does $3 small plates for higher quality, more gourmet stuff 3. Weak ass mole sauce. What 21 ingredients are you using? Because it tasted nothing like the mole I've had at countless other places, including in Mexico.

Victoria’s 5-star review: Why have I not been before today?! This place ROCKS! Way better sushi deals than Shiku, Nijo, I Love Sushi, Umi, and yes, even Seastar! I've had my fair share of sushi in Seattle, and this place is awesome. PROS: 1. Happy hour for lunch?! Shut the front door! Seriously. From 11:30 am to 6:30pm. 2. Amazing prices. 3. Amazing portion sizes for what pay. 4. Delicious! I got the spicy tuna roll and shared a veggie roll with my coworker. Twelve huge pieces of high quality, fresh sushi. 5. Great service. Even though we had a pitcher of water on our table, someone always came by to refill our glasses for us. And the food came out super fast. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be back. Another happy hour place to add to my list!
