Okay, I've been thinking about Chiron's death and I have some queries. We know Chiron was accidentally shot by Heracles, but because he couldn't die he was suffering in agony before giving up his immortality. His wound is also described as incurable, and since Chiron is technically a doctor that doesn’t mean that he had no clue what to do in these sort of situations. The thing is, in the Iliad we have another immortal figure who was shot be Heracles: Hades, who then flew to Mount Olympus in order to be healed by Paean. So why couldn't Chiron go to Paean in order to be healed as well? I'm genuinely curious.
Just focusing on Chiron's healing... a while back, I'd come across a red figured bell krater which is supposedly a comedic scene depicting the healing of Chiron
"Scene from a comedy; parody of the myth of Cheiron cured by Apollo (or Asclepios). On the left is a stage, on which is a side-view of a doorway with projecting porch ornamented with an egg-moulding and scroll-pattern; this represents the temple of Apollo at Delphi."
The entire description is too long so I've linked the website. I'm not sure which comedy the author is referencing, but they have also pointed at the presence of nymphs in this scene and speculated that they're the nymphs of the river Anigros. I looked it up and sure enough, it is said that Chiron healed himself of the poison in that river. So my guess based on this painting is that Chiron consulted Apollo's oracle at Delphi and was instructed to go bathe in the river Anigros.

Dionysus' childhood.
Behind him are the dead temporary caretakers, and Hermes is about to take him on the next leg of his journey.
I don't usually post my commissions here but... it's Octavian and Agrippa!!! omg I can feel tears welling up when I draw them.
A little sketch of Leda and baby Clytemnestra :)
My take Ganymede and Hebe!
