[EURYDIKE DOES NOT EXIT]

Rebecca. she/they. your local Jewish lesbian classics grad student. currently cracking the tragic mask on the edge of the skēnē like an egg. can also be found thinking about women's silent and silenced voices, the circularity of storytelling and entrapment in it, and textiles. this is a trans-inclusive space: "women" includes trans women.

another minoan lady 🤝

I connected two references: an outfit from a fresco and a real vase. I took the ref photos at the Heraklion museum.

if i had a nickel every time a character in greek tragedy is presented with a covered corpse and mistakes it for a different character who was played by the same actor (and thus has the same body) as the character whose body the audience knows the corpse really is… okay i would probably only have like seven cents. but still.

oh wait i would actually have (at least) two nickels! hecuba initially mistakes the body of polydorus for the body of polyxena even if polymestor doesn't

Here's a useless thought my head just supplied me with that I absolutely can't use.

Co-op game where if one player sees another, they die.

Both die? Just the one who does the seeing? Just the one who is seen? All players or just one crucial character? Do reflections count?

"Don't turn around. I'm right behind you. I'm going to put the mcguffin down behind you and go around the corner, I'll tell you when it's safe to turn around; let me know when you're looking away again."

Yes this, I love this idea

hi :)

...that is called a soft-lock and players hate them. that would lead to players having to kill themselves by walking into monsters or jumping off cliffs to make progress.

which has some horrific story implications so honestly that'd be kinda cool just for how mean it is. forget a rage game this has become an existential dread game.

i was printing a stencil for a screen print of achilles and troilus, and the printer spat out some newsprint, separating achilles’ face and body from the paper! something about how the media rejects the subject matter and lets troilus keep running for a little while longer. something about how his father is the god of the arts
