Every year, this iconic London hotel receives a magical Christmas transformation, courtesy of renowned designers. In 2021, ‘The Celestial Snow Globe’ by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of the Dior men’s collection, stole the show, while 2022 showcased a sculptural masterpiece complete with reflective mirrors and radiant light designed by Sandra Choi for Jimmy Choo. What’s in store for 2023 is still under wraps but if history’s any indicator, it’s sure to be a showstopper.

As for the rest of the hotel? Think lavish festive decor, classy Art Deco-style rooms, luxury marble ensuite bathrooms, and cutting-edge technology. What could be better than a holiday stay high above London in one of its most iconic buildings? Yep, the views from this place are pretty spectacular, especially when the city’s Christmas lights twinkle below.

In 2023, the Shangri-La Hotel is going all out with a festive theme called 'Enchanted Wonders.' They've teamed up with Jo Loves and Warner House to create some seriously epic decorations, including a larger-than-life, scent-inspired Christmas tree and a winter wonderland on the hotel’s ground floor (from November 14th). They've also got scent-inspired experiences that revolve around your favourite Christmas traditions, including a wreath-making class.

To satisfy your sweet tooth, they’ve even introduced a festive Skyline Afternoon Tea at the TĪNG Restaurant and Longue, available from 4th November 2023 to 9th January 2023, offering a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, scones, and festive sweet treats.

The mood? Jaw-dropping views and luxurious rooms decked out in Warner House cushions and furnishings.

If we were pushed to pick the best spot in London for Christmas, we'd probably say Covent Garden. The famous piazza transforms into a festive wonderland, with dazzling decorations, the scent of mulled wine wafting through the air, and typically, a magnificent Christmas tree that leaves onlookers in awe. The Covent Garden Hotel doesn’t miss out on the fun either, with its Kit Kemp-designed interior receiving a festive makeover that would even put a smile on Santa’s face.

We’re hoping their festive afternoon tea will make a comeback this year. As for the Christmas Day menu served in the 1920s Paris-style Brasserie Max, you can expect quite the banquet: Champagne followed by canapès, classic twists like Crab and prawn cocktail, accompanied by indulgent main dishes like Roast Bronze turkey and Beef Wellington. Don’t forget the Festive Film Club, hosted by the hotel’s own screening room- it’s all part of the holiday magic at Covent Garden.

The mood? Warm and cozy with an inviting Christmas vibe.
Location perks? Slap bang in the center of Covent Garden, one of London’s most popular Christmas destinations.
Budget range? Pricey but memorable.
