Ok, who do you give it to, the pitcher with one hit or the pitcher who won the game?
Matt Cain: 7 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 4 K (Loss)
Chris Young: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K (Win)
Cain took the no-no into the 7th inning. That said, once he lost it (literally), he was yanked. Also, Cain needed 27 pitches to get out of the first inning,
Maybe I should give the LSOTD to Braden Looper of the Cardinals. Wow, he pitched 7 innings of shutout ball. I don’t think too many Cardinals fans would have expected THAT. With Carp headed to the DL, they could use a few more appearances like that.
Honorable mention to the Yankees’ Bobby Abreu who shows no sign of slowing after his injury in Spring Training. Yesterday, he went 3 for 5, with a homer, 4 rbis, and 3 runs.
