Eugene Wilson on IR, Ray Mickens Signed

Pats D Backs Dealt Another Blow

The New England Patriots placed safety Eugene Wilson on injured reserve and signed former New York Jets cornerback Ray Mickens to fill the roster spot.

Wilson, who started opening day, has missed eight games with a lingering hamstring injury.

Mickens, who played for New York from 1996 to 2004, played for Romeo Crennel on the Cleveland Browns last season. He returned to the Jets in the offseason, but New York released him before the season started.

Expect to see a lot more defensive Troy Brown and less receiver Troy Brown, at least until Mickens is up to speed.
