Men on the Move

Since there's not much of a viewing guide to put together for the weekend I thought I'd start a running thread of USMNT relevant players who look to be moving this January. Let us know in the comments if you're hearing of additional moves or rumors and I'll try to keep the list updated every few days.

What I'm Hearing So Far...

Antonee Robinson

Let's start off with a move that's not really a move, that should get things off on the right foot. Bolton has agreed with Everton to extend their loan of Antonee Robinson through the end of the season. Robinson has made 20 appearances for Bolton who sit just a point out of relegation so the loan should provide him with some opportunities to see consistent playing time (he's started 10 of their last 12) in some high pressure situations.

Kenny Saief

In a move that reunites him with former coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck, Kenny Saief is moving from KAA Gent to Anderlecht. The move is a loan through the end of the season with an option to buy. Anderlecht sits two spots above Gent at three in the Jupiler Leage table but the more significant aspect of this move is likely Saief's reunion with Vanhaezbrouck. Vanhaezbrouck was let go from Gent in October after a slow start and a week later signed with Anderlecht who were also off to a slow start. If I'm matching my dates correctly Saief was one of Vanhaezbrouck's first signings at Gent and the pair won Gent's first league title as well as making a second round Champions League run in '15-'16 and third round Europa League Run in '16-'17.

Sacha Kljestan

For the second off-season in a row the New York Red Bulls have traded their captain. This year it's Sacha Klejstan moving from New York to Orlando. Benefits of the weather aside I'm not sure how this move will impact Klejstan, it can probably be assumed that he will continue his play making role but it's hard to see his performance impacting his role with the USMNT either way. The more important factor at this point is his age (32) combined with the fact that THE USMNT WON'T PLAY A MEANINGFUL GAME FOR ANOTHER 18 MONTHS AGGGHHHHH!

Sorry, lost myself for a moment there. As I mentioned, I'll try to keep the list updated over the next several weeks if additional moves are made. If you hear of something do us all a favor and call it out in the comments below! Rumors also welcome, especially in the comments.
