CPI up 2.2 per cent last 12 months
From December 2023 to December 2024 the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.2 per cent, while the CPI adjusted for tax changes and excluding energy products (CPI-ATE) rose by 2.7 per cent. The CPI and the CPI-ATE both decreased by 0.1 per cent from November 2024 to December 2024.
Increasing prices for manufacturing and decreasing prices for energy goods
Prices within the manufacturing industry increased 3.7 per cent in 2024, which is about the same as the year before. The price growth within manufacturing was very high in both 2021 and 2022. Since then, the prices have continued to increase from year to year, but now in a much slower pace. The prices for energy goods decreased in 2024.
Large increase in guest nights at the hotels in November
There were nearly 2 million guest nights at the Norwegian hotels in November last year, an increase of almost 11 percent from November 2023. Foreign guest nights increased by 34 percent, while domestic guest nights increased by 5.9 percent.
Salmon price in the period of December 30th – January 5th
In the period of December 30th – January 5th the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 125.36 per kilo, up 12.1 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period.
