In each of his video essays he does a deep dive on the mystical traditions, texts, and progenitors of various occult traditions, with a very scholarly eye and a surprisingly witty dry humor.
I'm looking to track down a Czech hand cream as a gift, but the only options I've been able to find don't ship outside of the Czech Republic or Slovakia. Is there any place that will ship to the US?
I have a Pixel 6. I have Android Auto in my car. This cord used to work absolutely perfectly for my old Pixel 3, but is crap on the 6. Where can I get a replacement?
What is this semi-antiquated illustration *layout style* called? To be clear, I'm looking to identify the placement and structure of the images on the page in a regular and usually symmetrical fashion, rather than the style of the illustrations themselves. Is there a term for this type of layout structure? Catalog Style or something seems close, but I can't find any clear answers via the googles.
When I was a yoof (somewhere around 1988, give or take a few years) I was staying at my Gramma's house for the summer. One afternoon while flipping through TV, and had my first ever exposure to a 'sex scene' in video - a scene which ended in a bizarre Rube-Goldbergian accidental electrocution death for both participants. What in the heck was this movie/show? (specific details inside)

I finally followed my dreams and got a Toto Washlet S300e for my home! NIB off eBay for a few hundred off MSRP. After getting the electrical rewiring done to accommodate the plug and hooking it all up, I realized my blunder - I completely missed that this was a 'Round' model and not 'Elongated' (the other Washlet model I was comparing to only came in Elongated, and I overlooked this critical detail on the s300e). There were no returns on this item, which is relatively sensible in a 'no returning used toilet seats' policy. Is there a way to order parts for just the ring seat and cover in 'elongated' that will fit with the bidet base?
I have a gaming table set up in my basement with an in-built screen for displaying digital maps when running DnD and the like. This monitor is connected to an Intel NUC box, which also outputs to a second monitor for private DM info. The rig also has a mouse and keyboard connected for control.
My question - how can I cut the NUC box out of the equation entirely, and run the whole shebang over wifi to connect to my much more robust desktop PC on the other side of the house?
An Exploration of the Demonic Themes Present in Scatman John's "Everybody Jam" (slyt)
Keyless home entry! It's been a decade since this last came up, so the tech may have come a ways, but I'm looking to upgrade the locks on a new home purchase and possibly get a little fancy. Tell me what's great and what's terrible about this idea, and what things I should look for!
I've been on a quest to find a particular kind of chili oil, and I'm having a hard time pinning down exactly what terms to use to buy the right kind, or even find a recipe to make my own.
I'm aiming to set up a 4-5 day vacation over Labor Day to check out the Grand Canyon as well as Antelope Canyon for that wild sandstone natural architecture. Caveat - I've never been anywhere near those places before, and know zilch about canyon hiking in the region or what else there is to do out there. Suggestions?
What if Mario moved like one of the Bloopers or Jellyfish? What if the entire Mushroom Kingdom was made of that same undulating flesh, quivering and pulsing unsettlingly beneath the flailing boot or diving face of a lurching, heaving plumber? What if you could play... Jelly Mario? (via RPS)
So my beloved 2006 Scion xB just got declared totaled by the insurance agency. I'm now at a crossroads - track down another 2006 xB, or buy a new car. My conundrum? I don't think I've liked a single car I've seen since my beautiful box left production (the later xB designs were terrible).
I've got a gaming table (for DnD, etceteray) with a mounted 42" TV in the center for digital game maps and whatnot. I've been trying to find the perfect clear screen protection item that will mitigate potential damage from bouncing dice, dropped pencils, etc.
So my folks live out in the country, and my dad enjoys hanging out on the side porch and watching the wildlife. I'm thinking of getting him some sort of binocular or spotting scope or something with light amplification or night vision so he can see the night critters. Only issue - I know jack squat about optics, and have very little data to differentiate between junk and worthwhile purchases. Experts, I consult you!
A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.
Everyone knows the storied rock career of David Lynch, but did you know he writes, directs and sometimes even acts in television shows too? On his hot new series 'Twin Peaks', his character Gordon Cole appears alongside Special Agent Tamara "Tammy" Preston, played by actress/model/chanteuse Chrysta Bell. Chrysta and Lynch go back quite a ways as musical chums, and many of her own videos bear a Lynchian vibe to go with her smokey driving swing and sultry voice. Her newest album 'We Dissolve' comes out next Friday.
Revel in the mad piping errrr... foot stompin' rock of The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets' newest opus, "The Dukes of Alhazred". While cleaning out my parents house for their upcoming move, I discovered and inherited seven large jars of honey that have been lurking in the basement for 20-30 years. What are some interesting things I can do with what appears to be 5-6 liters of honey?
I'll be heading to Chicago this weekend for a vacationy weekend in a new city. I've got an armload of plans for various things to see and do (including the Wax Trax popup shop), but I also wouldn't mind doing some shopping while I'm down there. Suggestions for an alt-culture excursion?
I work in a data center, and when amongst the racks the noise is pretty tremendous - gotta lean in towards the person you're talking to just to hear them, ear plugs are a must for any long-term work if you don't have other coverage. So I'm looking for good headphones in the 100-150 dollar range that have either active or very effective passive noise cancellation/reduction. The restriction - no earbuds, I hate 'em. Over-ear cans are the way to go. The Sennheiser 280 is a classic standby, but I can't find any specifics on how much white-noise type sound they block. The 429/439s look pretty swank as well, but once again, can't find any details beyond nebulous claims of 'sound isolation'. Anyone in a similar noise environment have recommendations?
I've been playing Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs over the last day or two. Has anyone put together a list of all the artists and titles for the paintings in the game?
I have a favorite pair of shoes, but they are no longer in production (I've contacted the designer, no dice). I would really like to get another pair, as close as possible.
