Our mission is to enrich and optimize the decision-making process for sports teams, sportsbooks, and sports fans.
About us
At SIS, we’re proud to be leaders in collecting, analyzing and distributing the deepest data sets and insights to professional sports teams across MLB, NBA and NFL, while also partnering extensively with the leagues themselves. Our mission is to enrich and optimize the decision-making process for sports teams, sportsbooks, and sports fans. Our vision is to create an unparalleled platform of sporting data and insights through best-in-class technology, products, and partnerships. Our versatility, subject matter expertise, and desire to enhance our partner’s performance is at the core of what we do. As we enter the next chapter of our trajectory, we are keen to put our data and newfound products to use to improve the sports fan experience, while being a critical part of the supply chain. Our existing database offers unparalleled detail and is updated daily, not just for the 3 professional sports listed, but at the collegiate, international and minor league levels as well. We are also moving further into the real-time data space (for the above noted sports) and into new sports/leagues. A key differentiator for us relative to competition is our flexibility and ability to customize feeds, data points, etc based on specific needs of partners. Company chairman John Dewan founded the company with a group of partners in 2003. John has been a pioneer in sports statistics for more than 40 years and was the founder of STATS Inc. In April of 2021, Audeo Capital announced a significant investment into SIS. Shortly thereafter, a new CEO (Dan Hannigan-Daley) and VP of Product/Engineering (Will Hester) joined the organization following years of success at DraftKings.

Congratulations to operations analyst Brandon Tew, our All-Star employee for November. Brandon works on 3 sports here - his primary expertise is in baseball but he also helps out on our football and basketball data tracking at a similar skill level. We consider him our "Pitching Ninja," as his greatest expertise is in scouting all things pitching-related (read his recent 2,500-word scouting report on Roki Sasaki - https://lnkd.in/eVUkYP3j). He is one of the primary teachers at Scout School, where we teach our seasonal employees the skills of scouting. In the words of others here, he's dependable, reliable, and a great teammate. Congratulations, Brandon!

Thanks to SIS alums Mike Lounsberry of the Panthers and Robert Simpson of the Broncos for joining us for our latest career development talk this week. Also, thanks to Owen Helton of Wake Forest University for speaking to our seasonal Video Scouts last week. Part of working at SIS is connecting with those who come before you to learn from their experiences. We're proud of our NFL and college football alumni who have passed through our company the last few years. They provide a wealth of knowledge and experience for our current group to draw upon.

Daniel Stonehouse is one of the key people behind the scenes helping power SIS in its sports analytics work. Dan joined us in 2021 and currently works as an IT Analyst. He oversees and manages the computer systems we use on a daily basis. He also assists with troubleshooting on issues that come up with our computer systems and also maintains asset inventory and deploys endpoints. "I enjoy working at Sports Info Solutions because of the people who work here," he said. "There is a great group of people who make up this company. When work is not being done, sports is always something to talk about, too! And I can talk with anyone here because I watch every sport and don't have a favorite team. I watch for great plays and an awesome game." We currently have an opening for an IT Analyst to work with Dan and others in his department. Come join our team! #nowhiring #ITAnalyst https://lnkd.in/eNRJiBX5

SIS Salutes its All-Star for October, Joshua Johnson - our Director of Data and Product Innovation. He has been with SIS since June 2023 after his company, Blueprint Stats, was acquired by SIS in 2023. "Josh is always forthcoming with ideas on how to solve problems, even if they may involve more work for himself," said SIS Director of Product Design, Elliott Boswell. "Josh is an excellent listener and truly tries to understand the user of the product he is working on. His tasks are routinely anticipated and often even completed before they are even assigned." Congratulations, Josh!

On October 24 we'll be announcing the winners of the 19th annual Fielding Bible Awards. These awards are given to the best defensive player at each position, as well as awards for multi-position excellence and Defensive Player of the Year. This is among the most prominent public-facing projects we do all year. It is highly regarded within the baseball industry and we are gratified by the appreciation the players show when they receive the award. The work begins with our Video Scouts and baseball operations team charting every play of every game, allowing us to calculate stats such as Defensive Runs Saved, Good Fielding Plays, and Defensive Misplays & Errors. It concludes with a panel of baseball media members, sabermetricians, and former MLB players filling out a Top 10 ballot for each Award. "We take the Fielding Bible Awards extremely seriously," said SIS editorial operations lead Mark Simon, who helps administrate the Awards with director of baseball analytics Joe Rosales. "SIS was initially founded on the idea of being able to dig a little deeper to provide more profound baseball analysis. The work we've done over the years to measure defensive excellence is at the heart of what we do as a company." Be sure to look for the announcement of winners on October 24. #FieldingBibleAwards #sportsanalytics

We're hiring seasonal staff! We've begun taking applications for our 2025 Baseball Data Scout Positions (formerly known as Baseball Video Scout) Each data scout will be collecting details that are directly used by SIS clients (many of which are major league teams) for advance scouting and evaluation purposes. Former data scouts have risen through MLB front offices after getting their start at SIS. MLB teams frequently contact us for recommendations when they need to fill a position within their organization. Our top data scouts each year have a long history of landing team internships and/or full-time jobs. Check it out! #nowhiring https://lnkd.in/ejCeiptW
