It's been an amazing ten years of Material Design! 🥳 Starting from a 'humble' vision of unifying Google’s products, it's evolved into a force for exploring radical personalization and expressive design beyond the modernist status quo. I hope you’ll take a moment to hear from a few of the people who shaped Material (oh, yeah I’m there too!), and get a peek into how we’re thinking about its future in the era of AI: https://design.google/m10 #MaterialDesign #DesignSystem #UX #UI #GoogleDesign #Innovation #AI

“From a young age, I was always fascinated by how things worked. I was the kid who loved solving logical puzzles, and this natural curiosity led me to pursue a B. Tech in college, where I got the incredible opportunity to intern at Google.” That’s Megha Agarwal, a Hyderabad-based software engineer. Now a full time Googler, Megha is working on Cloud’s backup and disaster recovery team, helping businesses protect their important data by creating backups. “Think of it like an insurance policy for all their digital files,” she explained. For Megha, the ability to work with cutting-edge technology at Google was a big draw. “It’s exhilarating to be at the forefront of innovation and see where the future of tech is headed.” Beyond the work itself, Megha also enjoys collaborating with fellow Googlers. “It’s the people who truly make this place special. The team is full of talented, passionate, and supportive individuals who inspire me every day.” Thank you for all you do Megha! Huge thank you to Daniel Roth and LinkedIn News for such a wonderful conversation. We covered so many topics dear to my heart - lifelong learning, the power of a great story, and finding your voice in any room
"Know the user, know the magic, connect the two." Officially, Lorraine Twohill is Google's chief marketing officer. But she really thinks of herself as the tech giant's chief storyteller. It's a superpower, she says, that has made it possible for her to thrive as a non-technical person at one of the world's most technical companies. From inner doubts about her ability to take on one of the most demanding marketing roles in tech, to the effusive and unexpected help she got from strangers who seemed to know her abilities better than she, to coping with a major medical scare, to the realization that delegating is also a superpower, Twohill's story — and storytelling — is one for the books. Catch it all in the video below. To keep up with these conversations and be inspired by the world’s top leaders, subscribe to This is Working: linkedin.com/thisisworking

Thanks to Google’s “Where the Internet Lives” podcast for inviting me on their latest episode to share more about how Tapestry is tackling what I described as an “absolute quagmire”: aging infrastructure, an outdated grid, and increasing extreme weather events alongside an explosion of clean energy that lacks the technology for us to safely deploy it at scale. But this convergence of issues is also a beautiful challenge, because it presents a huge opportunity for us to do things differently in order to address everything at once. In my conversation with host Stephanie Wong I talk about how our team is building tools aimed at doing just that. It was a pleasure to be joined by Alexina Jackson, AJ Hall, and Jessica Franklin from our longtime innovation partner The AES Corporation, who have been field-testing Tapestry’s tools in the U.S. I encourage you to give the podcast a listen, as it touches on so many important aspects of this wider discussion, including AI’s energy demand and other incredible organizations working to decarbonize our grid while keeping the lights on for all of us: https://lnkd.in/g4YnCvZF
