As ACI’s flagship standard, ACI CODE-318-25 sets the foundation for structural concrete design and construction in buildings and nonbuilding structures.🌟 Developed through an extensive consensus process, the document addresses all major structural systems, including cast-in-place, precast, shotcrete, plain, nonprestressed, prestressed, and composite construction. This latest edition introduces significant updates, including a new sustainability appendix that reflects modern construction practices, revised requirements for post-installed reinforcing bars, and enhanced provisions for shear friction. Zhu Liu, PE, has been named East Asia Regional Manager in the ACI International Affairs department!🌟 The role of the East Asia Regional Manager was created to support ACI’s growing presence throughout the region.🌍 In this role, Mr. Liu will work closely with ACI’s international chapters, allied organizations, governmental bodies, educational institutions, and members in East Asia to expand engagement, strengthen collaboration on technical and educational initiatives, and support the implementation of ACI codes, standards, and certification programs. Mr. Liu has more than 30 years of experience leading large-scale commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects globally from inception to successful delivery. His expertise includes construction project management, structural engineering, and design-build methodologies. In his recent position as vice president at LiRo-Hill, Inc., Mr. Liu led business development efforts and oversaw project execution. Mr. Liu has also been an active member of ACI for more than 20 years and has participated in ACI 314 and 355 committees. Congratulations!🎉

These awards are designed to support students pursuing concrete-related degrees and to help develop the next generation of industry leaders. With 48 awards available, recipients gain financial support, mentorship, and recognition within the concrete industry. Fellowships provide up to $10,000 in funding, along with travel opportunities and access to industry mentors.
