Despite the cloudy state of the Sixers, there is still joy, not just in the possible return of Joel, but also in our ability to root for high draft picks. Below is a far-from-comprehensive rooting guide for the remainder of the season...
Lakers: Root for wins. If neither of us makes the playoffs or both of us make the playoffs we want them to finish ahead of us in the standings.
Warriors: Root for wins. If neither of us makes the playoffs or both of us make the playoffs we want them to finish ahead of us in the standings.
Clippers: Root for losses. We have their 2nd rounder. And, well, there are other reasons.
Suns/Pels/Mavs/Kings: Root for wins, as they are neck-in-neck with the Sixer for draft order.
Bulls: Root for losses. Not only does it help keep us out of the 9/10 play-in, where we would only have a shot at an 8-seed, but we are also getting their 2nd rounder this year.
Hawks: Root for losses. It helps keep us out of the 9/10 play-in.
Magic/Indy/Miami/Knicks: Root for wins (I know this is probably not going to be universally agreed upon). Our goal is a 7/8 Play-in versus one of them (preferably the Magic). Not only is the 7-seed way better than the 5-seed in terms of draft picks, it's also an easier path through the playoffs.
