It feels like he probably is washed, but on the other hand, he was playing almost 28 minutes a game for the Heat this season. True, they just bought him out while trying to make a playoff push, but he also was helpful in the playoffs just last year. Is he going to be a guy Philly fans love or a player past his prime who lets us down?
Looking at his season, he had several impressive games this year. On November 8th against Memphis he played 34 minutes, hit 4/7 threes and had 17 pts, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. The next night he had 17 points again with 4/6 threes against Atlanta. He hit 7/10 3’s and ended up with 29 pts against Cleveland on Nov 22nd. In 33 minutes against the Bucks on November 28th he had 21 pts and 6 assists on 3/5 three point shooting. More recently he posted a solid 10 pts 6 assists, 4 steals in a win against the Lakers on January 3rd.
But he also had 16 games with 5 points or fewer this season while playing almost 30 minutes. In his last five games for the Heat he scored 0, 2, 4, 2, and 2. He fell out of favor with his team and they shut him down and then moved on. He is 37 years old. Is he washed?
I have not really watched him this year, so what does the eye test say? What are we going to get?
