@goldione: I realized the same problem as john_v and jazzact did. I followed your link and scrolled FAAAR downwards but I didn't find any hint about Bill Evans the wonderful Jazz-Saxophonist.

@jazzact:: see artist description - http://www.last.fm/music/Bill+Evans/+wiki ... 2.) Bill Evans (jazz saxophonist) ... and scroll FAAAR downwards ... ... sorry but we all have to deal here with double and 10s of artists of the same name here at last.fm... see The ' Odyssey Desaster ' >>> http://www.last.fm/user/goldione/journal/2009/10/19/33h1lb_the_%27_odyssey_desaster_%27 ... as a hard-to-believe sample.

I do not know how to contact last.fm other than this way - others please pardon this. Bill Evans cannot possibly be "on tour" since he died in 1980. I do realize there is a very gifted saxophone player Bill Evans, who even played with Miles Davis for a while, but he should have his own page and bio and tour information. Thank you for editing this last.fm - I do love your program - just want to get the information correct on this page. Thanks and best regards, John V. Peterson john_v_peterson@yahoo.com

Crystal notes or sparkling water cascading down from some clear waterfall. Miles Davis called him that, and it fits so well, his piano playing is just so light and yet forceful, tonal and dissonant, calm and tense, crystal. Probably my favorite Jazz pianist.

fryt33k: Very difficult to say. For live albums I would start with Sunday at the Village Vanguard, Waltz for Debby or just grab The Complete Village Vanguard collection. For studio albums Everybody Digs Bill Evans, Portrait in Jazz and Explorations are good starting points. He has quite a few great albums, though, both live and studio...

I'm new on last.fm. But i found out that there's no Site for Bill Evans the Jazz-Saxophonist (born 1958) - who is not the same as this one - Bill Evans the Jazz-Pianist (born 1929). Who can make a Site for the other Artist, too? Who can I tell about this?

If you love Bill Evans' awesome comping style, check out the tune, "You Must Believe in Spring".

The tags for him are ridiculously shitty. Jazz? No shit. Jazz piano? No shit. Piano? Redundant, and no shit. Bebop? No. Fusion....? Wow. Where are the cool and modal tags? Well, that's enough bitching for one day. On a more positive note, "The Complete Village Vanguard Recordings, 1961" is a desert island recording for me. Magical trio interaction and choice of tunes.

One of the all time greats when it comes to using theory and feelings meshed together in a way that no other could.
