Well in case you missed it yesterday, the Mariners played a nine-inning game of baseball which took four-and-a-half hours to complete, a game in which they held the lead exactly zero times, giving up fourteen hits and 12 runs. Three hours in to this game, they put down all their gear and walked off the field to sit in an underground bunker in rain-soaked clothes, communicating through suggestive stares that said maybe if we just leave they will call it except then they did not do that. It was, by all accounts, one of the five-worst games of the entire season, and it comes mere days before the 2016 trade deadline, a moment when buying and selling need be decided on the basis of clear-headed thinking rather than an aversion to Midwestern mildew soaking into your work clothes. But that's okay because today they get to face Jake Arrieta!
The only good news is that with Miley on the mound, this game has a chance of clocking in at a reasonable pace. On the other hand:
Names I'm hearing tied to #Marlins - Andrew Cashner, Wade Miley, Jeremy Hellickson. Hot prospect to move RHP Castillo @GoHammerheads
