Minor league camp has started up, and Curto has a few reports (day one, day two, day three). He also reports that Andrew Carraway has retired and taken up a probably much better paying job at a venture capital company. I remember getting briefly excited about him when he turned up at Spring Training a couple of years ago throwing in the low 90s instead of his more usual 80s, but it never came to anything.
Jason Churchill has his Mariner prospect rankings 16-30 up. Tyler Olson is the Mariners' #21 prospect, which still only makes him their #3 Tyler. In case you missed it, the guys who just missed the top 30 can be found here.
Alex Jackson has a .958 OPS in Spring Training, 50 points better than the other A.Jackson. Should he be promoted straight to the majors or does he need some AAA time first? Jesus Sucre, on the other hand, is walking round saying "Spring Training stats don't matter" in a very loud voice. Is he going to hit well enough to keep John Hicks in Tacoma? Any other prospects you think might get the call early on?
