Garrett Richards is a pretty similar pitcher to Brandon Maurer. Both come equipped with a mid-90's fastball -- Richards throws a bit harder -- and a sharp slider, but neither have much of note beyond those two pitches. Not surprisingly, lefties have fared pretty well against the Angels right-hander: they've posted a .289/.381/.464 batting line against him in his career. Jason Bay is starting in left field.
