Like any form of media, the written word can take many different forms, each offering up a different consumer experience. So much of Patrick's writing, including this take on the fan experience, reminds me of listening to a great record for the first time. You're excited and cognizant of your intake initially but begin to seep into its layers, becoming fully immersed by the end, unaware of your surroundings. Snapping back to reality, you're not sure where you've been but know you loved it. You go back to the beginning and do it again.
This was my favorite article of the week so I was happy to see it get some love from SB Nation.

Michael has been spot on with his first four posts at Lookout Landing. This introduction to Brandon Maurer had just about everything we love-- a prospect retrospective, statistical analysis, pitch f/x visualizations, GIFs, and wit, all tied together with great commentary. If you need to get up to speed with "The Big Fourth," this is a must read.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this when I saw the title in the queue, but holy crap did it make me giggle. Logan uncovered anagrams ranging from the ironic (Jeter Moons Us), the appropriate (Rank Fertilizer Gun), the poetic (My Sad Snorkeler), and the... ... ... (Used Nose Jar).
