Jeremy Bonderman (who, by the way, had the fourth-best xFIP in the AL this year) has a chance to make this the greatest baseball day I've had in a long long long long time. It's not just the prospect of the Yankees losing in the playoffs - it's the sheer improbability of their falling to someone like to Detroit, a team of 24 no-names and Pudge Rodriguez that played like crap for the last few months of the season. I'm not going to get ahead of myself, but if the Tigers win this series, we're going to have to seriously re-evaluate the way we analyze the chances of playoff contenders, because I don't think anyone was giving Detroit a chance in this.
The fate of New York's season falls on the famously dependable Jaret Wright. That tickles me.
