Had a reader from the old days of LeoneforThird send me a link to an article written by Jason Churchill regarding the impact of Ichiro and if he is truly worth his contract.

I've made the argument in the past that the team should seriously consider moving Ichiro to center field, which would enable the team to bring in a power bat to fill right field. With a large amount of power bats residing in the OF corners, finding a MOTO bat to fill one of the corner OF spots is much easier than finding a MOTO bat to fill CF. While Ichiro is a talented leadoff hitter, as long as he is in RF, Bavasi will have a difficult time adding impact or MOTO bats to the lineup (especially with Raul, Richie and Adrain filling the other prototypical power positions).

With Reed now in the fold, the chance of Ichiro shifting over is slim, although the chances of it happening were slim before Reed even joined the club.
