Tacoma outlasted Memphis, 6-5 (10). Andrew Lorraine was hit early and often as he was out by the fourth going only 3.2 innings giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits while walking three and striking out four. The bullpen did a pretty good job in relief until George Sherrill came into the game in the ninth and gave up a run to blow his first save of the season. Sherrill apparently sustained a triceps injury during his inning of work and will be re-evaluated by the team over the next few days. In the tenth, Chris Snelling tripled and eventually scored on a passed ball from Mike Mahoney to win it.

Tulsa beat San Antonio, 6-5 (10). Ryan Rowland-Smith got hammered in the first inning giving up three runs but recovered nicely and went five more shutout innings before his night was up. The Missions took a 5-3 lead into the top of the ninth before Sean Green blew his second save of the season by giving up the two runs to the Drillers to tie. In the tenth, Green was sent back out there and quickly gave up the winning run. Yuniesky Betancourt had a nice night at the dish by collecting three hits including a double and a homer and Jon Nelson also contributed by homering himself.

Rancho Cucamonga edged Inland Empire in yet more extra-inning action, 8-7 (11). The 66'ers were chewed out after this one. Maybe not Aaron Trolia who came back to pitch a pretty good game after giving up two runs in the first inning, but Nibaldo Acosta, Michael Steele and Chris Key probably felt pretty bad after the lights had been shut off. Heading into the ninth, it was smooth sailing as IE had a huge five-run cushion in which to fall back on in case a few hits were given up. And then like a storm you couldn't see coming, the Quake bats came alive:

Mumba Rivera initially took the mound and gave up two runs on six hits while walking three and fanning two. Wisconsin had only seven hits despite the late barrage and three of them belonged to Oswaldo Navarro who smacked three singles and drove in two. Matt Tuiasosopo tripled in the ninth to start the rally that ended up going forever.
