An American Haunting (2005)
The worst thing to happen to TRUE ghost stories since The Amityville Horror
I went to the theater too excited to see another true ghost story come to life on the big screen. READ READ READ online and their is so much to offer on the Bell Witch Haunting. One of the most documented case's ever. The only documented case in the United States that a ghost killed a human being. So with all the information known on the case, Why would they slaughter a story so much? Amityville was another example of a story that if they stuck to the fact's it would be great. Hollywood can take their movies and shove them. The acting was good, but that is the only positive thing I can say about this movie. For God's sake the effect's were B movie like. Sorry guy's, maybe next time they tell a true life story they should stick to THE STORY!
Undefeated (2003)
Great Movie for real boxing fans
I never really liked John L. I hadn't seen him in many serious roles at the time. I didn't expect much but was very surprised.
If you have ever done any boxing yourself or honestly know the sport I think you'll enjoy this film. It was a little different from the average "ROCKY" boxing films we've gown to love. Much more raw and the fight scenes are REALISTIC which you won't find in the ROCKY films. The Rocky film's had heart but this film seem's to have testicles. Possibley John's best performance to date. It was just a boxer's story up to a point. He won't steal your heart but you will get an inside look at the sport. The best sport in the world get's over looked too often but John seemed to get it. Maybe you can too?
Check this one out!
Lift (1997)
:-( One scene made this film worth seeing
Once again Block Buster's previously viewed section got me.
This time with Lift, I thought Ufo's and Alien's might be cool, right?
Wrong, the film is about a young pizza delivery driver. He is obsessed with Ufo's and Alien's. Like a not so cool Fox Molder from the X-Files. The movie seemed long and drawn out but had a few cool spots along the way. Only one scene makes it worth watching. The first sex scene had me almost spitting beer at the T.V. from across the room. The main character's coked out abducty screw buddy ask's him to put on an alien mask while they do the nasty..... Ya, you heard me right! If you like the funny then rent this movie watch it to that point and take it back.
SideFX (2004)
A Good Try
Once again at the local Block Buster's previously viewed section. I saw this film. It sounded like a clever vampire story so I gave it a shot. What's there to lose right? ($7.99) thats what.
The movies story was alright. The actor's and crew really seemed to try on this one.
The movies story wasn't too bad. I think most of the problem came from the budget. The effect's weren't very good but again budget! It looked like everyone's first film and for that I think they did a good job. It was very far from scary but had some nudity. The acting was far from great but again I think it was a lot of people's first film. The only thing that made this movie anything was one actress. She played the lead. She made the movie the best it could be. Her acting was easily the best in the film. Her level of hottness and acting forced me to give this film a 5. If you are bored and in the mood for something a little different then check this one out. All and all I think they did a good job with what they had. Plus there's a hotty in it.
13 Seconds (2003)
Very B movie
I bought 13 seconds from my local BlockBuster straight outta the old previously viewed section. The cover art looked good and I thought I'd give it a try.
From the very beginning of the movie due to the way this film was shot you can tell it's a B movie. (Not always a bad thing) Have you ever called in sick from work and been forced to watch daytime T.V. or If you've ever been forced to watch some of the acting on the daytime soaps.... That was better acting than in this movie. ( Over Acting all the way) The story had a small cleverness to it but not enough for me to waste my time again. The effects were B grade. Where the movie really went bad for me was right from the start. In the beginning for no real reason to progress the story the main character shoots up. For me I thought we were suppost to root for the main character. This did two things, First, I'm not gonna root for a junkie not to be killed. Second, through the rest of the movie I found myself wondering if either the main character was just high or if he had died with that needle in his arm. Personally I feel it would have been the smart move to kill off the main character when he shot up. The movie would have been much more enjoyable.
