I'm certain the viewer needs to be in an altered state of consciousness in order to appreciate the cinematography because the plot, dialogue and over use of wide panning scenes are simply annoying.
The visuals are stunning but the dialog, such as it exists is sooo sparse they should have made it a silent movie. The wide panning scenes don't add anything, merely extend the length of each episode. If they were removed this could have been shortened to three hours.
I watched the complete series and wondered if I could get six hours of my life back.
The best way I can describe it... when you drive by a multi-vehicle pileup you want to look away but you somehow can't.

Ok, I'm seventeen minutes into this film and I can't believe the 10/10 ratings. The sound quality is brutal, as if I'm listening while wearing earmuffs. The acting is mediocre at best, especially the silly Russian accents. This is supposed to be an action film yet the action sequences I've seen so far leave a lot to be desired. I'll see where this goes but so far I'm not hopeful.
The title is somewhat misleading as Merlin hasn't a very large part in the film. Overall it was entertaining and an interesting adaptation of the Arthur legend.
The acting was good but the fight scenes were not choreographed that well.
Likely not a film that you're going to watch again.
