Another videogame movie, which not long ago would be code for bad movies that completely misses the mark. Luckily we're way past that and videogame movies have been a delight to watch. This is no popcorn-flick, this was actually a really solid movie. But it won't be for everyone, you need to be a fan of racing, you need to be a fan of GranTurismo on Playstation. GT is my favorite racing franchise and I love racing, I play GTsport on PS4 and still play GT6 on my PS3.
The movie lives upto the games, I mean it wasn't that difficult to do so. But they did justice to the games. The shortcomings were definitely the barebones script, a stereotypical predictable ups and downs, the unnecessary dramatic photo finishes and the love angle. The acting was functional, there were emotions behind them at times but for the most part it wont blow anyone away. The main lead is a good example, he's not someone you'd wanna root for if you've never played a racing game. But if you have then you'd be cheering him on because he got to be where we all wish we could be playing on our controllers. He is carrying the unfulfilled hopes and dreams of all us gamers, rooting for him is natural because he becomes a self-insert. Orlando Bloom was flat, David Harbor atleast put some effort.
As for the driving aspect, the game to real racing transition we're pretty amazing. The vibration and shaky cam were a joy, regret not watching it in theaters. I feel they could've done more on track racing but trust me, you wont realize this while watching.
The direction was a letdown, the runtime a bit too long, the soundtrack mostly doesn't work but it somehow still fades when the actual racing begins. There were some really unrealistic parts in the movie, things that would never happen in real life but this isn't a documentary.
Its not a perfect film but it does what it sets out to do. Inspire the feeling and keep the dream alive for the millions of racing game enthusiast that didn't get to race. If you can relate to this aspect then this is the film for you, if you are a casual it still should be a decent watch considering the low grade garbage we keep getting. And if you're not a fan of racing at all then why are you even watching this?

This was my most anticipated movie of 2023, lets just get this outta the way. I'm the kind of Resident Evil fan that follows and watches and knows almost everything going on in the main series but is too much of a wuss to actually start and finish one of them because my heart cant handle horror. I love the characters, a certified Jill and Leon simp, I love Rebecca and like the Redfield siblings. So one can imagine just how livid I was when I found out they're going to team up in a new animated movie. This is ENDGAME for RE fans and for the most part my hype was satisfied.
This is gonna be pretty biased, if you arent a fan of all things RESIDENT EVIL you aint gonna like this one and this aint for you either. This was made for the fans, an excuse to bring the gang all together. Throw in Ada and Wesker and Sheva somewhere and it'd be a fever dream.
The movie was fast paced, barely any downtime or time for character buildup because lets face it, each of them has gone through hell and back multiple times. The villain was pretty decent, in that his backstory and motives far outshone his actual plan and endgame. Lets just say he wasn't the smartest tool in the shed and his scenes in the end was outright dumb. Except for the last 25mins the movie was pretty solid. But the ending was underwhelming, the main baddie was underwhelming, the teamup was a wasted potential and for being the ENDGAME it was definitely not an AVENGERS level threat. This was prolly the most self-contained and cut-off-from-civilization RE since the first game. The actions were fantastic, the visuals were astounding, the score was forgettable and the dialogue corny-just how it should be. There were slight hiccups in the CGI and VFX in a few scenes esp with water areas but overall a great feast for the eyes.
My gripes are with the last 25minutes, couldve been the masterpiece it shouldve been but stumbled face first. But does it detract from the experience? Absolutely not. The character interactions were gold, the team-ups fantastic and FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER Leon-Jill teamup!!!! Just this alone is enough for me, I love them so much!
I got my moneys worth but as I said this is gonna be a very biased take. Its atleast a good past-time for the general public and a must-watch for people fan of the series. It wont blow anyone away, it may even disappoint many but I was left satisfied and thats what matters to me. Movies are subjective, doesnt matter how good or bad a movie is technically if you enjoyed it and had a good time. Its ok for movies to just be movies.
RATING: 8.5/10(Biased fan rating)

The last remnant of Zack Snyders comicbook debauchery, no way I'd have any expectation from it. Won't say I was pleasantly surprised but its better than I thought it'd be. The entire movie looks like it was made by little kids lemonade shop earning, an absolutely insult to people with eyes. Adding that to the bold and dimwitted excuse by the director for the story state of visuals, this could easily be the worst looking superhero movie of the 2000s. Because it really is just an excuse cooked up by a thirdrate hack with zero filmmaking knowledge who shouldnt be anywhere near the directors chair.
The good surprise all came from Ezra Felon Miller, who I wasnt a fan of as Flash. But in some weird way he makes it work, which is astounding since there are two of them and the other one is an even more insufferable version of him. But both version work, their contrast and perspective and role reversals work. The additional treat was Michael Keaton back as Batman, not in all his glory but in the most Michael Keaton way as possible. The easter eggs from the '89 movie was peppered throughout, nostalgia bait or not it worked on me. The fight scenes were appalling and I swear this is the final time but the whole big battle in an empty field fight is the worst thing Ive seen in a superhero movie. Honestly I imagine the Morbius theatre looked more packed than this. Sasha Calle as Supergirl was decent enough but Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot just keeps getting worse as times go on. Ben Affleck is a terrible Batman and Bruce Wayne, he was only ever good in half of BVS, people need to wake up and see for what he is. The twist at the end was very neat and dare I say as a concept was better than the actual Flashpoint comics for me. Wont spoil but you'll understand when its revealed. And be sure that is high enough praise for me, when I say its better conceptwise than the actual comic that everyone loves.
Ezra Miller carries the film, the nightmare opening act aside he was really solid. Esp in the more nuanced scenes injected with just enough emotion. Its a shame that both he and the concept was stuck inside a movie made by a D-grade moviemaker pretending to be a C-grade moviemaker. I literally have no respect for the director of this film, couldve really been quite good if made by someone with half a vision.
RATING: 6/10(Was expecting a 2/10 movie)
