So far the chemistry between the lead actors and the writing have helped make this shows stand out as more entertaining than many procedural copaganda shows that feature a consultant whose specific skills comes in handy. Although incorrectly regarded as a goof to the imdb page, the writers do a good job of highlighting the fact that high "IQ" or potential individuals don't automatically know everything. The lead character can make simple mistakes in evidence handling because she doesn't watch lawyer shows, but she does know esoteric facts about random subjects that are covered in nature documentaries and other subjects that are interesting to high intellect people. Some people seem to prefer her automatically knowing everything they themselves know but knowledge does not work that way and this is the first show I have seen that has given a more realistic representation of intelligence. I look forward to seeing them show her quickly learning how police work is done the longer she assists the police.
Kaitlyn Olsen is outstanding in this role and I am so happy to see Daniel Sunjata in something again. I loved him in Rescue Me. Judy Reyes of Scrubs fame does a great job and I never see Carla as a cop. All the secondary character are likable and offer more room for the writers to take the show and I am looking forward to seeing more episodes.

Although I am in generation x, I have been a huge Cary Grant fan for as long as I can remember having real self awareness to know what I like. Cary Grant is really superb in his role of an unconventional doctor. As are all of the main characters. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon Prime Video and bought it so I can watch it two or three times a year. The Philadelphia Story is the only Cary Grant film I like even more, which I also purchased from repeat viewings. But that aside, on its own, this movie has the correct balance of drama and humor and makes very serious points that negate any other aspects that may feel outdated.
Once they dropped the gimmick of a "Cougar" dating young men and concentrated on being a funny show about wine loving forty-somethings, it became awesome. The constant running jokes and specific eccentricities make this a great show to watch straight through once a year.
