Paranormal Activity 4 (2012)
WHAT? That is the ending?
It is been a great paranormal supernatural horror film franchise, but this film.. wow, I can't believe it that this sequel is the most disappointing one.
While many paranormal activities, plot twists, a few good jump scares and story adds, the ending is the worst. The ending features Alex finding her almost-no-common-sense dad in Katie's house. She finds him dragging around by a ghost like an animal. He disappears and she finds Katie (obviously possessed) screaming like a lion and his mouth so hugely wide. She runs outside by jumping out of the window and finds Wyatt/Hunter. She, then, turns around and see many possessed people. Again, she turns around and finds Katie, attacking her and ending the film. The most sad is that this scene is short and not much suspense than the first three. And also we don't know if she is killed or possessed because there is no sentence, saying "this character is killed or something like that".
Also, maybe it is implied that Alex survives and maybe possessed or trauma or being went to mental hospital or teams up with Kristi's daughter. But still, I need a sequel, I really better and nicer sequel.
House at the End of the Street (2012)
A Thriller Film and not a Horror Film.
House at the End of the Street or HATES is a good film. But it is not a horror flick. It is a suspense thriller with twists and turns until you lose your mind thinking.
Let's talk about the movie. The acting is good. The jump scares are infrequent, but good and really scare me sometimes (one jump scare is really expected). The plot is I like, because it is really keeps me thinking. What I don't like is the 1 hour and 35 minutes long running time and it is very long.
But still, a great film even it is not listed at my list of greatest movies of 2012.
Chronicle (2012)
The Real Thrilling Found Footage Film which uses action and superhero styles
Chronicle is a found footage action superhero-style science fiction film that blows your mind. It is even the most thrilling found footage film than Paranormal Activity or The Blair Witch Project. The script is good. But the best is the fun never stops as thrills begin to rise while the movie runs.
Now, lets talk about the effects. The effects are likely real. You can hear vibrate sounds, wind, crashing and booming, and some shattering. You can see also building getting crashed, cars crashing, crushing and flying, lightning strike, and many more.
Then, lets talk about the story. The story is about a teenager named Andrew videotaping his life. One night after partying (he left), Andrew, his cousin, Matt, and the most popular student, Steve discover a hole, which they find a giant crystal. Arriving there, they mysteriously require superpowers. As the film runs, Andrew becomes violent with his powers.
Finally, I will tell you that this film is one of the best films of all time.
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013)
Another twist just like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is great!!! I watch the trailer on TV and it was great. The killings are brutal, bloody, and violent. Its story is simple. And the 3D effects are quite animated. The acting is okay. The ending is good, too. The special effects are great! Almost forgot, it is not a horror film, because the only horror is the witches' faces and their plan to complete a ritual. Its just an action film with witchcraft, brutality, and some infrequent vulgarity.
Jeremy Renner is the best to be role as Hansel. Gemma Arterton is also the best to be role as Gretel, even in the film, her character always get injured (Hansel, not so much).
It is also like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which is also a great film and really has horror.
