The original film shocker, that spawned the exact same film, ala, USversion, if almost cloning it. Two rich kids from affluent, privileged families, who are probably are not getting enough attention, from Mommy and Daddy, get their kicks, robbing, raping, torturing, and killing families, kids included, in these staycation homes somewhere in a beautiful idyllic part of France. Very stylish, well acted particular by the father, and head baddie, this is a shocking, testing, thriller, sometimes getting the audience involved, where like the remake, which I do happen to like better, this is something different, push the envelope film. Great script, the lead baddie always commanding the screen with such a facade of suave charm, it's kind of hard to hate him. His tubby mate, resembling much the one in the remake. The film too has a kickarse heavy metal soundtrack. Fine thriller drama, with smart thought provoking dialogue and occassional shock violence that's not overdone.

This film, isn't by any means, remarkable amidst the blaxploitation film list. Yeah it has a bit of nice T and A. Other plusses, Sid Haig, and Ashley, the film's stealer. He's a charismatic hoot, his voice reverberates, long after the mildly entertaining watch. These 3 female, 'not to be screwed with' prisoners/revolutionaries hatch this plan to break out, and steal this US money, a million in fact, only they have to get around, a few obstacles, including Ashley. On most part, the film is quite ordinary. Haig is good for some entertainment value, but I darn wish I saw more of Ashley in this. He's like the glue to keeps it together. The three scenes, each one singularly featuring Ashley with one of our sisters, testing his honestly is classic. This film isn't, but worth a watch. Striking VHS movie poster, painting it off, as much more exciting. A deceptive sell.

Harsh reviews I must saw. Blumhouse stuff is great, as i t makes original. Here is no exception. Impressive backstory and some pretty moments. Granted, it's backstory is pretty out and ridiculous, but that's what I liked, the originality, which I appreciated. It's a cool horror pic. Has some nice twists, if a little sad ending, which really hit me inside. Also it illustrates a little, about pool filling. A young family, the mother, pretty worn looking, dragged off her feet, and hubby, a once, star baseball hitter, who's slowly come down with MS, choose the house with the possessed pool of death. Things are not really what they seen, below the pool surface, and the uneasy air of instances, regarding it, moves along at nice beautiful pace, in the film's duration. Perks of the pool, is, it's restoring hubby's health, the MS disappearing. He can hit for miles, and he's never been happier, but us hip viewers know, this will come at a price. The film has really good acting, the daughter and mother, the mother specifically, really good. A real engaging watch, and so, exciting in the fact, we really don't know what will happen happen next, with our possessed pool. I found it a little cliched in the last twenty minutes, involving demented father, but all in all, I really found this one an entertaining view. Not perfect, of course, but disregard many negative views, and make up your own mind.
