A Pakistani foreign exchange comes to live with a family in Wisconsin. A comedy about teens in high school, friendship and general cultural clashes. There are some Christianity vs. Islam touches, however I do believe Dave Chappelle said it best that "America has to have an honest discourse with itself".
It has good actors and good writing, as you can tell by Dan Byrd moving on to another great show, "Cougar Town" not to Mention Lindsey Shaw to "Ten Things I Hate About You". I think that these are much better fits for these two actors however this show was a very good starting point for the two. Bringing in Amy Pietz was also a great move, I think of her as a combination of Fran Drescher (The Nanny) and Marisa Tomei. I've been a fan of hers ever since "Caroline in the City".
However, since it came out on the CW network, it would be tough to sell this to their audience. This is meant for an edgier network. This is typical of them, the same thing happened with Reaper, another great show that was cut short in it's prime. I do think it's still a good show, and should be a nice thing to kill a couple of days with. Eighteen (18) episodes at 30 minutes each is Nine (9) hours, so I also recommend this to marathon with friends, if you're up for it :)

This movie is by far one of the most interesting films I've ever seen. I own the DVD and have watched it more than 10 times, at the very least. What I like about this movie is the fact that most of the plots we take for granted are taken to new heights here. "Boo!" to all of you folks who hated it, but I only assume you were expecting to see a PREDICTABLE movie. It steps out-of-the-box with the intricate design of each of the characters, with their inclusion only deepening the plot. The normal twists you find in a regular teen romance movie are finally SECONDARY to the main character's life! He falls and GETS the girl after the first 20 minutes of the movie... and THANK GOD for that. It tweaked my interests from the very start, because you see GETTING the girl isn't as easy as KEEPING her!! Notice at the end of the film, the way he "accidentally" introduces each of the characters to be who they really turn out to be (for HIM) in the end... i.e. Kelly as the Student Adviser. All the old plots and story lines are thrown out of the window for this one. FINALLY! Our generation is old enough to digest some MEAT! Provoke us! We DESERVE our 8 bucks worth. Well done, Luke.
Need I say more? This was the the most horribly edited film I've EVER seen. Billy, Billy, Billy. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?!?!?!? The fighting scenes were really bad, using corny effects to create a feeling of "coolness", I swear this movie was just about looking good. There's NO believable plot, as its an attempt to fuse Chinese fighting styles with basic theology. The story of Good vs. Evil has NEVER looked any worse. I actually feel regret for finishing the film. If I had three thumbs, the third one would be down too. The only thing that I found to be of interest in the film was that it was more of a joke than a real film. I was laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face during most of the fight scenes. I had to cringe away when I saw the final battle, you could practically see the wires. In FACT, this movie was so bad, I registered here at IMDB.com JUST to tell you all how bad the movie was. TOTALLY not a good buy, I would NOT ACCEPT it even as a gift!
