Not sure I can see why this is so highly rated. There are outright prosperous coincidences, but putting that aside, once the characters are established exactly what you think will happen does, only very slowly. Neither is the specificity of actually being a juror ever explored over much, to the point where my suspension of disbelief regarding their procedures and decisions arose.
Just go watch 10 Angry Men or any other number of films where it goes to some lengths to actually make the deliberation and processes myopic, specific, and therefor actually believable-and sometimes, interesting.
The acting was good, though.

Good thing I waited for the directors cut, I guess. I actually am in favour of this biopic trend where they embrace the fact that they're a movie, rather than some pseudo historically "accurate" recreation. This is truly and fully a story experience. It is so absurd at moments that the audience knows this; it does not preened to be an education on the subject. But it does attempt to communicate the cultural mythos around them.
This feels much more genuine and entertaining. It is an epic, cinematic experience with some truly fantastic sequences. It's not talking up (or down) to any audience. It is just a story being told, and it's a good one. Napoleon is truly a character, and subjects of biopics always are; whether in documentaries, historical texts, or films, everything is a narrative and a medium. Just roll with it.
4K HDR and directors cut probably helped it out quite a bit, too.

Meta horror has always interested me. This is up there as some of the best I've seen yet. The character arc, the commentary, basically all the production elements, even the casting and acting-all have been pretty bop notch. Though, more than most, you need to buy into it. It's a fun thrill ride with some solid, if trod on, thematics at play.
What really brings it together is the meta elements. Making it enjoyable at both levels is pretty difficult and tends to devolve (Scream cough), but I just found this, as well as the series, always knew when to subvert a trope or hit it; when to to be nostalgic; when to be campy or serious. For me, it always came together.
And the capstone that is this just feels right for the character. She reflects the industry even as she subverts it. She's neither a hero nor a villain, though technically a final girl, too. Neither did the trilogy try to do too much with her either. All of it just felt right.
