Just finished watching the film after reading so so many negative reviews about it over the past week. I went into this already feeling disappointed. But I've learnt a valuable lesson today - the audiences in this day and age are so hard to please, even if the original Jurassic park were to come out today people would probably give that negative reviews too.
Don't believe what you read from the masses. I thought this film was excellent and was a great send off for the "world" trilogy. It gave me goosebumps, it made me feel wonder, sadness, surprise and fear. Sound familiar?? Another film does that too. It's called Jurassic Park.
I'm by no means saying this film is as good as the original. But it is MILES better than Fallen Kingdom and I actually think this film merged the original cast with the recent very well. Both groups were integral to the plot and actually contributed. They used their nightmare experience from the first film and used it to survive.
I could go on and write another 1000 words to this review challenging people who say "there wasn't enough dinosaurs. Too much focus on people" and to that I say - if that's what you want then go watch the walking with dinosaurs movie.. this isn't a Dino documentary. It's a science fiction film which involved HUMANS creating dinosaurs from DNA. People and their selfish motivations are kind of important to how the entire series has worked thus far.
If you're reading this review and haven't seen the film because you've been put off by all the negativity - then please, go and see the film and judge for yourself. Don't be the negativesaurus that so many seem to be these days.
And yes, I did just say Negativesaurus. I'm using it now.

Don't get me wrong, from a visual and colourfully fantastical point of view, this film was amazing.
But for an MCU film, which we have all come to love for being so intricate and detailed, this film falls flat for me. It just doesn't make any sense with the universe that the MCU has built up to this point.
Certain rules and historic lore has been completely discarded. And I think the villain of this movie is one of the worst and least relatable of the entire franchise. It just made no sense. And even during the climactic "battle" things were happening that just weren't explained. We just kind of had to accept what we were seeing as possible without understanding what was happening.
And unfortunately the character depth of most of the cast in this film was very poor. Certain characters were sort of just there for the sake of it. With no real purpose or direction, and they were some of the closest characters to the main guy!
I don't often say this - infanct I've only said it once before when leaving the cinema after a marvel film, I feel disappointed, confused and left thinking "they could've done it better"
