Vindelander's rating
I'm writing this having just completed watching Season 2, which I rated 8 overall. Series 1 was brilliant in my view and also rated 8 and the high standard of storytelling and acting continues.
There is some very good acting indeed by Michael Socho and Adeel Akhtar in particular but really the whole cast deserves credit. The conclusion never becomes obvious right until the end and each episode keeps the intensity running with little padding. I find watching the series in one sitting the most enjoyable way as the number of characters and plot twists can otherwise cause confusion in what is quite a convoluted story.
Can't wait for the next season !!

With such a good cast I was expecting great things of this series but having just watched episode one I've decided to draw stumps. I feel that David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell- Martin have been rather mis-cast in their roles and any hope that their usual comedic talents would make this series something special were soon dispelled for me I'm afraid.
The storyline is pretty weak and implausible and any attempts at humour fell pretty flat. The series Vexed was far more engaging and had a decent plot and managed to incorporate light relief much better.
I hate giving up on this so early but can see the writing on the wall.

I have to confess to giving up on this after 30 minutes of watching episode 1 as the writing was on the wall very early on. The dialogue is so poor with the attempts at humour so early on cheapening the production further. The fatuous introduction of a hen party on the second train carrying the Acting Head Of Cyber Security and her friend just destroyed any chance of this being a seriously crafted thriller in my view.
There's nothing new in this in terms of the dangers of hacking to our infrastructure and I've been lured too many times into giving similar series a chance before deciding to cut my losses. Not with this one I'm afraid.
